Times Journal of Construction and Design takes a look at Jotun’s online visualisation software, ColourAdvisor

Aleading Norwegian producer and supplier of paints and coatings, Jotun Paints, has launched ColourAdvisor—an innovative online colour visualisation tool. Unlike other visualisation tools, ColourAdvisor is available online and provides unlimited access to anyone wishing to paint their homes.

A first-of-its-kind technology in India, ColourAdvisor is a user-friendly online tool that allows the end user to perform a digital paint job by uploading pictures of their target rooms and selecting their desired colours. In addition, ColourAdvisor, allows users to save the colour suggestions on the website, for reference at a later date. These can even be printed later with the various trial shades as well. As a result, prospective customers can now enjoy a more realistic experience through superior colour rendering, extended interactivity and access to a larger colour palette, which will enable them to make better painting decisions.

ColourAdvisor empowers the customer to virtually paint his/her dream house with the colours of his/her choice before making a purchase decision. The software is extremely user-friendly. It involves simply uploading a photograph of the interior or exterior of the home and enables the user to match, compare, specify, manipulate, re-colour, visualise and design various colour schemes using the software. More than 50 countries across the world have successfully adopted ColourAdvisor. The software is available through a single registration on the product website. The ColourAdvisor software will be available on two platforms—on the internet and at Jotun’s Multicolour Centres.

Announcing the launch, Percy Jijina, GM—Decorative, Jotun India Pvt Ltd, stated that ColourAdvisor will make the decision-making process for wall colours a pleasant family activity. “For the first time in India, customers will be able to experiment with colour preferences from the comfort and convenience of their homes,” he said.

Highlighting the benefits of ColourAdvisor, Mr Jijina asserted, “The market in India is evolving and we at Jotun India are committed to offering the best, state-of-the-art services and technology offering a more personalised experience to each customer. Today, home makeovers are generally expensive. On an average, a majority of the people in India paint the interiors of their homes once every five years. ColourAdvisor will help reduce the odds of costly mistakes when making selection decisions pertaining to wall colours. The software will offer a tremendous value-add with its userfriendliness and unlimited access.”
