Saudi Arabia—the largest construction market in Middle East and North African region (MENA)—has registered over 1,000 projects amounting to over USD 1.102 tn.
In spite of the damp economic conditions, the region’s construction industry has seen resumption of dormant projects and is also seeing crisp growth in new construction projects. The growth of the country in the Middle East and North African region as a major player are a result of the Saudi government’s continuous efforts to liberalise the economy.
Showcasing this growth, The Big 5 Saudi, a major construction industry event, will be held from early in 2012 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events. The spotlight would be on the Saudi Government’s Six Economic Cities Project namely King Abdullah Economic City (Rabigh), Jizan Economic City (Jizan), Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed Economic City (Hail), Knowledge Economic City (Madinah), Tabuk Economic City (Tabuk), and Eastern Province Economic City.
